The Ultimate Game Day Appetizer: Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sliders
With only a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time, Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sliders are the perfect snack for game day or as a holiday party appetizer.

Why make Buffalo Chicken Sliders?
I always need an easy, filling appetizer option when I am hosting a get together. If its a low effort appetizer– even better!
This ridiculously easy recipe only requires three simple ingredients that you toss in your slow cooker and forget about it. So I can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the festivities.
Some spice from the buffalo sauce, paired with the cool, creaminess of the dill dip and the subtle sweetness from the slider bun, is a slam-dunk every time. I often double or even triple the recipe.
What ingredients do you need for Buffalo Chicken Sliders?
- boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- buffalo wing sauce (I like this one)
- ranch seasoning packet (like this kind)
- dill dip (like this one or make your own here)
- slider buns
- shredded iceberg lettuce

How to make the sliders
In a crock pot, add 1lb chicken breasts and 1 cup of buffalo sauce.
Pro tip: Since I am never sure if my guests will like super spicy dishes, I use a mild buffalo sauce. If you’d like more heat, opt for a hot buffalo sauce.
Sprinkle 1 packet of ranch seasoning and place lid on top of slow cooker.

Cook on high heat for 4-5 hours or low heat for 6-7 hours.
Once chicken is fully cooked and the interior temperature is 165 degrees, use two forks to shred the chicken.

Grab your slider buns and spread 1/2 T of dill dip on bun. Scoop 1/4 c of shredded chicken mixture on each bun and top with shredded lettuce. Replace lid of bun.

Serve on a large tray or platter. Optional: Sprinkle with additional shredded lettuce or chopped celery leaves for garnish.

How to store leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
To reheat, place chicken in a saucepan on the stove and warm over medium-low heat.
What to serve with Buffalo Chicken Sliders
If you are serving sandwiches alone, then round out your spread with some of these:
- sliced carrots and celery with ranch dip or curry dip
- fresh fruit tray
- pasta salad like this one
- chips
If you are serving it as an appetizer spread, then try some of these:
If you are serving sandwiches buffet style, and prefer to have a few crockpots lined up for guests to “build their own”, then try these other fun slow cooker sandwiches:
- Creamy Ranch Chicken Sandwiches w/ Bacon
- French Dip Sandwiches w/ Au Jus
- Chicken Sandwiches w/ White BBQ Sauce
