Ingredients

  • 12 chocolate cupcakes storebought
  • 24 Oreo cookies
  • 2/3 c Reese's Pieces separated by color
  • 1 tube cookie icing white

Instructions

  • Start with a dozen chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. I ordered them from our favorite bakery, but you could absolutely make them as well.
  • Open the package of Oreo cookies. Twist the cookie sandwiches apart. One side will have the frosted center attached to it. Keep that side and discard the the other half. You will need 24 cookies with the frosted center.
  • Next open the package of Reese's Pieces. Separate them by color. You will need 24 brown candies.
  • Open the cookie icing pouch. I like t use white icing so that it blends in with the frosted center of the Oreo. Place a small drop of the cookie icing on the back of a brown Reese's, and "glue" it to the Oreo frosting. This will be one eye of the owl. Tip: Don't place the Reese's directly in the center of the Oreo, but rather slightly closer to the edge. This will make the Owl eyes appear more realistic.
  • Place two "eyes" into the the frosted top of each cupcake and press down gently to secure the cookie into the frosting.
  • Finally, take yellow or orange Reese's pieces. Press one candy into the frosting sideways between the owl's eyes to make the beak of the owl. I like to use 6 yellow and 6 orange Reese's to add some varied color, but you could do one color or the other if you prefer.
  • Display Owl Cupcakes on a cute cake plate or platter.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
